Our story began two generations ago with George Henry Bourdon who developed his skills making artificial limbs for those injured during the Second World War. Today those same skills and tools are put to use to create unique and individually crafted leather pieces.

Our name and makers mark

George Bourdon not only lives on in the tools still found in the atelier, but also in our name and maker's mark. As a direct descendant of the French Huguenots that arrived as silk weavers in the East End of London our name comes from a derivation of French for "Of the Green" referencing Bethnal Green, where George's family established themselves. This French connection is found in our maker's mark as Bourdon can mean bumblebee.
