Terms of Service

Welcome to Delevert. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website www.delevert.com (the "Site") and your purchase of goods from us. By placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who We Are

Delevert is the trading name of Bourdon Atelier Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17313420, with its registered office at 51 Elmsleigh Drive, Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 3DW, United Kingdom ("Delevert", "we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at info@delevert.com.

2. Our Products and Service Levels

Every item we sell is handmade. We offer three levels of service:

Made to Order — an item selected as-is from our existing catalogue, produced for you once you order rather than held in stock.
Made to Measure — an existing catalogue item with changes you request (for example, sizing, colour, hardware, or monogramming).
Full Bespoke — an entirely new item, designed and built to your specification, not part of our current catalogue.

Colours, textures, and grain patterns are a natural feature of leather and may vary slightly from the images shown on the Site — this is a characteristic of the material, not a defect. We make reasonable efforts to display colours accurately, but we cannot guarantee that your device's display will reflect the true colour of the finished product.

3. Orders and Production Times

Estimated production and delivery times are provided in good faith and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Made to Order: please allow approximately 4-6 weeks for production before dispatch.
Made to Measure: please allow approximately 6-8 weeks, which may include a short design confirmation step before production begins.
Full Bespoke: timelines are agreed individually and confirmed in writing before we begin, as these typically involve a design/consultation stage. A 50% deposit is required before work starts, with the balance due before dispatch.

An order is accepted, and a contract formed, once we send you an order confirmation (for Made to Order and Made to Measure) or once we confirm the final agreed design, price, and deposit payment in writing (for Full Bespoke). We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order at any time before that point, in which case any payment made will be refunded in full.

For Made to Measure and Full Bespoke orders, please check all specifications, measurements, and design details carefully before confirming, as production begins shortly afterward and changes may not be possible once underway.

4. Prices and Payment

All prices are shown in [CURRENCY, e.g. GBP (£)] and include/exclude VAT where applicable [delete as appropriate]. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout. Full Bespoke orders require a 50% deposit before work begins, with the balance due before dispatch; Made to Measure pricing is confirmed individually and may also require a deposit. We take all reasonable care to ensure prices are correct at the time of publishing. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price.

5. Delivery

We currently deliver to [COUNTRIES/REGIONS]. Delivery times quoted are estimates and begin once your item has completed production. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes to you once we have received payment in full. If a delivery is delayed by an event outside our control, we will let you know as soon as possible and take steps to minimise the delay.

6. Your Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel an order. This right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised. How this applies to each of our service levels:

Made to Order: your standard 14-day cancellation right applies. You may cancel by contacting us at info@delevert.com before the item is dispatched; if production has already started, we may deduct our reasonable production costs from your refund.
Made to Measure: because these items are altered to your specification (size, colour, personalisation, etc.), the statutory cancellation right does not apply once we have confirmed your order and begun production.
Full Bespoke: as an item made entirely to your specification, the statutory cancellation right does not apply once we have confirmed the design and begun work. Your 50% deposit is non-refundable from that point, save where the item is later found to be faulty.

We will make clear which cancellation terms apply to your order before you complete your purchase.

7. Faulty or Damaged Goods

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which apply to all orders regardless of service level. If an item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, please contact us at info@delevert.com within 30 days with photos of the issue, and we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate. Note that variations in leather grain, colour, and natural markings are not considered faults (see Section 2).

8. Care of Your Item

Leather is a natural material that will develop character (patina) with use over time. We are not responsible for changes in appearance resulting from normal wear, exposure to moisture, or lack of care.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including the Delevert name and logo, product designs, photography, and text — is owned by or licensed to Bourdon Atelier Ltd and may not be reproduced without our prior written consent. Where we develop a bespoke design at your request, all design rights and intellectual property in that design remain with the atelier; commissioning a Full Bespoke piece gives you ownership of the physical item, not the design itself, and we may (unless you request otherwise) reference or reproduce the design in our own portfolio or future work.

10. Limitation of Liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not liable for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

11. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events outside our reasonable control.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our processes or in the law. The version in force at the time you place an order will apply to that order.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
